JH Boys Track
The JH Boys track team braved 30 mph wind gusts and 40 temps in Mapleton last night as they placed 3rd. The boys were able to score in every event during the meet and highlights included; 3rd places; 4x800m (Brinkman, Brown, Killian, Munoz) 4x200m (Brekke, Copple, Miller, Schrunk) 4x100m (Copple, Killian, Miller, Schrunk) 4x400m (Brown, Hanner, Killian, Rand) 400m Dash (Hanner) 200m (Westergaard) Discus (Dirks) 2nd places included Westergaard in the 100m, long jump and 200 hurdles. 1st places included Dirks in the shot put. The boys will compete at the Conference meet in Correctionville today.
The JH boys track team took 3rd at the LB meet on Friday night scoring a season high 105 pts. Warm conditions led to some good placings; Dirks won the shot put and the discus. Westergaard won the 100m,200m, took 2nd in the 200m hurdles and 3rd in the long jump. East took 3rd in the discus. 2nd places; 400m (Hanner) 3rd; 800m Med (Killian, Munoz, East, Hanner) 4th; 1600m (Brown), 4x400 (Hanner, Brown, East,Rand) 4x800m (Brekke, Lyon,. Munoz, Killian) 1600m Med ( Munoz, Copple, Brinkman, Brown). Shuttle Hurdle (Copple, Lutt, Lyon, Brekke) . They run again Thursday at River Valley
The JH boys scored 97 points and took 3rd place at their home meet last night. The boys scored in 14 events and tallied their highest point total of the season. Dirks claimed 1st in the shot put and 4th in the discus. Westergaard claimed 2nd in the long jump, 2nd in the 100m, 1st in the 200m and 200m hurdles. East took 3rd in the shot and 4th in the 400m. Hanner claimed 2nd in the 400m and 3rd in the 200m. 4th place finishes included the; 800m Med (Killian, Rand, East,Brown) 1600m Med (Copple, Lyon, Rand, Brown). 4x8 (Brekke, Munoz, Lyon, Rand). 5th places; Schrunk 100m ( Schrunk) 4x1 (Killian, Dirks, Munoz, Schrunk)
Running in their 2nd meet of the year, the JH boys claimed 3rd place in Onawa last night. The boys scored points in 12 events, and placed 2 people in some events. Performances included: Dirks and East placing 1st and 2nd in the shot put. Dirks - 2nd in the discus. Westergaard 3rd in the long jump,2nd in the 100m & 200m dash. Hanner (4th) & East (6th) in the 400m. Westergaard (1st) and Miller (5th) both placed in the 200m hurdles. The 4x400m team ( East, Brinkman, Brown, Hanner) took 4th. Their next meet is Monday at home
The JH Boys opened their track season last night in Kingsley. They opened the scoring by in the field events by placing 2nd (Dirks) and 3rd (East) in the Shot put. Dirks claimed 4th in the discus while Westergaard took 6th in the long jump. Running highlights included: placing 2 runners in the 400 ( Hanner - 2nd & Brown 5th), 2 in the mile (Brown 5th & Brinkman 6th) Miller placed 4th in the 10 flight hurdles and the 4x100 (Schrunk, Hanner, Miller, Westergaard) took 3rd.
