New Teachers at Westwood!

Hello! My name is Jessica Stamer and I am a first year TK teacher at Westwood. I recently graduated from Northwestern College. I am beyond excited to work at Westwood. Westwood Community School District brings a community together that all wants each and every one of their students to succeed, and that is something I am beyond grateful to be a part of.  I believe that the most powerful educators are those who care, exercise patience, always seek to understand, and meet each child where he/she currently is. I can't wait to bring my teaching philosophy to Westwood! Go Rebels!!

Justin Hazard will be the new 4th grade teacher this year. This is Justin's sixth year of teaching as he taught for the Lincoln Public Schools and Crete, Nebraska. He is a native of of this area as he was born and raised on an acreage near Anthon.

Education:  University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Iowa Western Community College and MVAO High School

Brogan Kearney is graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, IA, with a bachelors of music education. At Drake he was a member of the Drake Wind Symphony, Drake Symphony Orchestra, and Drake Jazz Ensemble One. While at Drake, he served in a number of roles with Des Moines area schools including marching band field technician with Ankeny Centennial HS and Des Moines Roosevelt HS. He also served at his Alma mater of Johnston HS as the director of their show choir bands and assistant director of their 8th grade show choir.

Mr. Kearney states "I am very excited to work with the students and community of Westwood! Westwood has a rich tradition of musical excellence that I am excited to continue. I look forward to meeting the students, families, staff, and community members of the Westwood CSD!"
