Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a program where students that could be in kindergarten take a year to grow with social-emotional and academic supports in a smaller setting. TK uses kindergarten standards and curriculum at a slower pace to make sure each standard is mastered. Just like in kindergarten, students need to be five by September 15th but is ideal for those just having birthdays.

Students eat lunch and attend specials with the other kindergarten students. They have chromebooks just like the rest of the elementary and receive technology lessons.

Administration, TK and K teachers and the parents decide in the spring if the student should attend kindergarten or first grade.

Our preschool teachers work with their parents to discuss if TK is the right solution for their child. If you are interested in the TK program, please contact the elementary principal. If you would like to sign up your child, please click this TK Sign-up form. May 3rd is the last day to sign up for TK.
