TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR AND MECHANIC
Westwood CSD is looking for an energetic individual to lead our transportation department. This position is for a full-time Transportation Director, Mechanic and Substitute Bus Driver to begin duties March 1, 2024. Starting July 1, 2024, this position may be shared part-time with another district. This is a salaried position with benefits. Pay is dependent on background and related experience. In addition, the district offers fully-paid single health insurance, paid vacation days, and other benefits. This position qualifies for the IPERS retirement system. Duties include:
- Directing the school transportation department
- Maintaining the school's fleet of buses, cars, vans and related equipment
- Performing regular safety inspections of vehicles
- Recruiting & training new bus drivers
- Occasional grounds maintenance & facility maintenance tasks
- Driving when needed
Requirements:
- Good driving record
- Diesel/Auto Mechanic Skills
- CDL & other required certifications to drive a school bus. (district will pay expenses)
